my friend found a aluminum driveshaft out of a aerostar 4 wheel drive van to fit his 86 5.0! does anyone know of a aluminum drive shaft out of a stock car to fit 4.6's? or anything else we 4.6 guys could get out of other cars?

 

A 330(5.4) V8 out of Ford trucks and SUVs to swap .Other than that and PI swaps, T56 tansmissions, etc. there really isn't much.

 

besides a cobra what other cars have a t56?

 

vettes and vipers...thats it.haha

but be careful...theyre not all exactly the same i dont believe..i think the transmission mounts and lil things are different

 

I believe the Vettes are also transaxles so you want one from an f-body, Viper, or Cobra. Also, watch out since the splines on the f-body/Viper trans are different from the Mustang.

Don't forget about 4V lincolns... older ones used 96-98 cobra heads. In fact, in some way any car or truck that has a modular engine in it has something that will fit our cars... it's just a question of what you want to replace.

 

i ment parts that you could actually find, vettes, vipers and cobras you will never find in a junkyard with anything in it, unless your there when they show up!

 

you can find 31 spline stock trac-locs with 3.73 and 4.10 gears out of the right trucks

 

You'd be surprised. Heck, in Car Craft's junkyard crawl, they are still finding 442's in relatively decent condition!
