Default shifter blocks

maybe im overthinking somthing or w/e but when people are talking about the after market shifters haveing blocks when shifting while at high rpm;s what are they talking about what are these blocks exactly ?/???? i have a short shifter and yeaaaaaa when i shift at a high rpm its much tougher to push into gear, it almost feels like im pushing it through a couple of notches or somthing...but at low rpm its relatively smoothe (still a stiffer shift but thats just cuz of the shorter stick)

shift blocks (stops) are place to prevent from over shifting a gear in a manual car (minus the mustangs w/ the 3650..they have built in shift stops)

all they do is set a block/stop for the shifter stick to hit and such
