dyno tune
#4
I paid a flat $300 for my dyno tune....I think he did like 10 pulls or something like that. He was going to charge me $150 to do the tune using my predator, but it didn't do jack for me so for another $150 I got a custom tune loaded directly to the car....

mine have always been about 200 bucks for the tune and about 300 for the chip (for multi-tune chips). Figure an hour to 1.5hrs of dyno time at the usual 125/hr if they charge you based on actual time taken.
Most good tuners can dial you in in under an hour if they've done a grip of tunes on your model... there's a lot of settings that are fairly common car to car and only a little fine tuning that's normally required.

I paid 250 for my SCT chip and 250 for my dyno tune. only thing i didn't like was them doing only 2 pulls. They did a tune for me in the drive way, did some second gear runs and adjusted things afterward and said that i need to make an appointment for the dyno. month later i did the dyno tune but he was almost on the money with the tune in the driveway. On the second run they said it was pretty much done and nothing else could be done to it. Just paying 250 bucks for 10 min dyno tune wasn't cool, and they had me waiting for awhile. o well.
But i recommend a dyno tune over a handheld or mail order tune any day. all cars are different, some like things more than others and some don't and only a dyno tune will tell that.
