Default How long will my top last?

Been lurking here for a while and figuring out what and am have been bitten by the mod bug -thanks for the advice. Getting a lot of stuff done to my stock 00 GT convertible next week.

I have a question about my top. On the rear rib one of the seams has started to pull and two stitches have seperated and a third is fraying. First, is there any preventative maintenance I can do before it gets worse? And how long do you guys think I have before I am looking at replacing the top?

Thanks

I now realize I should have posted this in Gen Tech, sorry.

I know the part is cheap but how much am I looking at to have it installed?

I just dropped a bundle on it this month. I put on 4 new tires a touch up paint job, replaced the 3rd Brake light, the passenger side mirror, and the borlas go on Wednesday. Not to mention assorted bling new floor mats, billet......
