Default Transmission ?

Hello all,

I have not taken my Stang in yet for the tailshaft repair. The leak has stopped. My question is will it stop leaking if the car is off and not running? Is it leaking because when you have the car running there is pressure and that is why it is leaking? Am I right in saying it is the tailshaft seal, the seal that is leaking is from the "Rear" of the transmission, where the driveshaft goes into the transmission. I am thinking of getting a tranny cooler intalled at the same time as well as my H-Pipe.

That's true cause usually if you take the driveshaft out, fluid spills out, so with a bad seal and now no fluid, yeah i say it's alittle low right now. and it is the tailshaft seal.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen! I am hoping that it is only the seal. The tranny was shifting fine it was just blowing out Tranny fluid. I will find out on Wednesday.

If you can't replace your tranny right away, you could always poor about half a bottle of brake fluid in you tranny to swell up you seals. It may stop the leak for awhile.
