Your first order of business should be to upgrade to PI H/C/I and then add a power adder. Good suspension mods. Slicks or drag radias with upgraded axles and hope your engine will hold....

Its not so much as to how much power, but how well you can drive.

First build a 5.4 with forged internals, ported PI heads, cams, Saleen supercharger to make it look factory, bump the boost, headers, Hpipe, and a catback system, Tubular K member to drop some weight, upper and lower control arms, mickey thompson drag radials and a good tune.....

a PI swap will bump compression too far to make supercharging a good idea unless you swap in a whole 99-04 motor. You'll need to make about 400rwhp at 3400lbs with driver and fuel in order to see 11.9 by the numbers with a blower car. Better suspension and losing weight off the car makes it easier. You can do it with 350rwhp if you have drag radials or slicks and a killer launch technique on top of a well done drag suspension. Every 100lbs you lose from the car will drop your times .1sec.

I'd build a 5.4 with 10.2:1 compression, Patriot stage II ported heads, VT stage II cams, and a full coil-over drag suspension just like Saleen spec'd, put slicks and skinnies on it and learn to drive. If you can get a 1.6-1.7sec 60' time you should be well on your way without a blower.

To get high 11's on a npi car, plan on spending 10-15K on mods and installs. Add another 2-5K on track time to get your launch down and learn to powershift.

No matter what, you'll want to upgrade to 31 spline diff and axles and put a driveshaft safety loop on the front part of the driveshaft so you don't pole vault the car when you break a u-joint.
