Shaker hood for 03 GT
has anyone bought the shaker hood on an earlier model then the 05? ive seen posts from guys with 05's that the scoop lets water in and im wonderin about getting one for my 03. anyone know the power gains? im figuring it would compare to a stock Mach1 if put on a stock GT.

I don't know about the water leaking thing but, the power wont even be close to a stock Mach 1 man. They are 4v motors so that's where the power comes from. THe shaker scoop is just ram air. It adds a more to the top end then anything because you are going faster. But definitely not going to give you 45 flywheel horsepower. Sorry man not pickin but just letting you know. I do think they look sweet and it is awesome to watch the shaker move when you accelerate. I would get one just for the looks.

Lot's of people have put shakers on their 99-04 GT's and I haven't heard of any issues with water getting in, but you never know. As far as power, you more than likely won't get any added power, and even if you did it would only be a couple of hp or so.....The designer of the Mach 1 said it really isn't functional until 70-75+ mph and really how functional is it! I'm not really sure if there is anyway to test if it actually adds hp because there is no way to test it until your going 75mph......hmmmm....wind tunnel maybe.

What ya do then is get a high powered leaf blower (lol) and put it on the intake and mess around untill you can consistantly achieve that same level of air pressure.
Next take it all to the dyno and have a run with the leaf blower putting out the same pressure as when going 75, and you should be able to get a dyno of it at simulated speed.
no wind tunnel needed.
