Default 2005 shaker hood system installed

Hey guys and gals,

I finally did it!. IMO the 05 needed something other than the plain stock hood.
I looked at a lot of hoods out there and finally decided to get the shaker. MT had the best price $699, no tax or shipping.
It took me about 2 hours. You could probably do it in less time, but I measured ten times.
Here's my .02
1. I measured 10 times to get the center line and followed the instr. to the tee and it is still 1/16th over to the left. Not a big deal, but if CDC wants you to cut your own hood, they should come up something better to align.

2. It is hard to get to the two bolts that secure the shaker. They want you use the top two 8mm bolts on the throttle body, but the shaker's base covers it. I had to trim a bit of the plastic.

and lastly, 3. the die cast for the shaker lacks quality control. Some pitting and on some edges, there are deep grinder marks.

Oh well. I am still happy with the out come. I'll let you folks decide. Here are a few pics. The stang is dirty though. Darn black cars!

Same thing I was thinking... Do any stangs come or planned with the Shaker from the factory or is this a true aftermarket part for the 05+

I'm not a big fan of chrome. It will most likely be the anthracite. That is if MT will get them off the ship soon. If not, I might just get 2 of the 18X9 that they have in stock, throw some 275's for the rear and leave the 245-45-17's up front.

I think it looks pretty good man. I think it would look even better with a more aggressive hood.

Looks good Darn all these people putting shakers on their stangs! lol

I love the look of a black wheel with a polished lip on black mustangs but I think I'm a touch biased there
