The 03 t56 uses an electronic speedo, your 98 uses a mechanical, or is the factory adaptor the same? I know they list the 94-98 cars as mechanical and the 99+ as electronic. I've seen adaptors to use mechanical trans in electronic cars but not the other way around. I have the sames trans (03 t56) going in my 04 next week. Crossmemeber# m5059b, came with the mount. However, I think this member fits only 99+, that what the box says anyway. Check with Ford for the adaptor.

unibodys are the same for 94-04 there is very small changes to the frame over that time period.

Really? I thought it only came with the trans, yoke, driveshaft and crossmember. What's the part number on the kit you got? (you did go from an auto to the T56, right?)

negative i had the crappy 3650 trans and upgraded it. 96-98 will need to get new clutch to fit the new trans, 11". Mine did not need new clutch but while it was out I did the new flywheel and spec stg 2+ clutch. And yes it comes with driveshaft, crossmember, slip yoke, and of course the tranny. thats all you kneed for the swap. minus fluids!!

I havent had any practice with it yet at the track since the new setup. But when I had the old trans in and stock gears it was running consistant 12.7's @ 113-114 mph . and i like the procharger it is a good kit. I have not had any major problems with it. If I were going to do it again I would g with a turbo setup.

I have a 98 mustang gt. If you have any questions about installig a t 56 ask me I've gone through all the problems if your going to install the 03 cobra t56 from a cobra I'll tell you what will go wrong the speedometer the tach will be fine when you install it you will need a crossmember and a new u joint yes the 03 04 cobras use an alluminum drive shaft but it wont fit your going to use your old one your also going to need a new clutch. To fix the speedometer you will have to call dallas mustang their number is 1-800-mustang your going to need a extended range speedcal it cost 100 bucks without shiping and what not. Every thing bolts up just fine and works, I say go for it if you can get the t56 from an 03 for cheaper. I did it and mine works perfectly if you have any questions just ask
