MIL Eliminators??
I am about to order long tube headers and a shorty o/r h-pipe...do I have to get mil eliminators? Can someone explain to me what these do besides turn the check engine light off? And what kind of gain in hp/torque can I expect? Will my car sound alot meaner with these upgrades? I hope so!!

They tell the ECU you don't have rear o2s so the check engine light will stay off and also, from what I understand, will allow for proper a/f adjustments by the stock ECU. Unless you have an x-cal or Predator to turn off the rear banks(o2) then you need. Look for a used set, I just gave mine away since I now have a flash turner and just used it to turn off the o2s. HP gains are funny. I've read in most mags only a peak of 8-12 hp and 15-20 ftq the manufactors all claim 20-25at the rear. Most showed a loss of hp in the lower rpm and a small tq gain up to about 3k then a more steady gain to peak. I just install my SLP and really didn't note any major change. Maybe a little stronger on the top but it's hard to tell. With heads, cam or a sc the gains are real nice. The or pipe will sound a good bit louder!!
