Default Need Help

today i heard my car making a weird noise. its like a knocking sound. it sounds like its coming from underneath the car. maybe around the transmission. when i rev the car in neutral it doesnt make the noise. it only happens when i am moving in 1-3 gear, once i get in 4th a 5th i cant really hear it. in reverse i havnt heard the noise. it sounds really bad. my car is sitting in the garage and its gunna stay that way till i find out what it is. i was hoping someone could tell me what it is before i have to go pay 100 bucks for someone at a local shop to check it out. i think it has something to do with the transmission but i really dont kno.

with the amount of miles u have on that car... and realizing that usually the only time you replace a throwout bearing is when you replace the clutch..I doubt thats what it is

Sometimes when I'm driving and I dont shift cleanly, something in mt tranny makes a clunking noise. It usually happens from 1-3 gear but never 4th or 5th bc I have enough momentum. It could be that.

Sometimes that can be a sign of problems with the rear end

ok, i just got the car about a month and a half ago and still havnt gotten an echeck. they just keep giving me temp tags. so now i have a f*cked up cat. is it possible i can pass echecks with my broke cat so i dont have to spend 100 on a new cat or put my brothers old hpipe on for a day. as soon as i pass echecks im gettn an offroad. so if anyone has an o/r h that they dont want, lemme kno

h-pipe method will work (given it has cats)

It might pass with a bad cat... depends on how broke it is...

cats have this porcelain block full of lots of little square holes inside... so if theres enough of it in there it should pass... theres no way to tell how ****ed up it is... so if its really bad ya may want to swap pipes

yah... shifter just changes gears...

there is no way that a shifter can be used wrong unless you use the wrong gear, but its still not the shifters fault... its yer own...

you can **** up the clutch...

all a new shifter is for is... a shorter throw, comfort, looks, etc... they all do the exact same thing...

bet I could shift better w/ a stock shifter then most could the best short throw...

ok so i swap out my bbk perf x pipe with my bros stock h pipe and i pull part of the honeycomb from the cat outta the pipe. once i installed my bros pipe and drive it i hear a knocking sound coming from around the mufflers. i think another piece of honeycomb from the cat is either right infront of, or inside the muffler. now i gotta jack it back up and detach the midpipe again and take off the mufflers and shake them around and hope it comes out. but i feel a HUGE difference between a stock h pipe and a bbk performance x pipe. i never woulda thought itd make that much of a difference. cant wait for the o/r h to get here

don't bother... the peice of cat will work itself out on its own... eventually... maybe a few days or so...
