It's not a dumb question at all, but I wouldn't be so quick to say you don't need a tune. I just read another thread that basically asked the same question and somebody stated that MT#1customer's car leaned out by 20% when he added the Accufab TB/Plenum. I'm not sure what your mods are, but if you have catback, x pipe, CAI, tuner and add a TB/Plenum your probably running pretty damn lean. Just adding a TB/Plenum without any other mods probably won't require a tune, but with all the other bolt ons you should get your A/F checked to be safe.

it doesnt require a tune, such as other parts like a larger MAFS or something along that line... a tune would be recommended to take advantage of the parts and to check your a/f ratio as jjtgiants mentioned but its not required.

I agree, a tune isn't "required", but if you have many other mods that affect A/F then I would highly suggest it....Especially if your going to run a hand held tuner cause that will lean you out even more.

I put an accufab 70 in place of my FRPP 70 and my AF richened up a tad. Strange things happen sometimes. IN any case, I'd only bother with a tune if you have other performance parts. I agree with JJTgiants... If you use a handheld tuner at least get a dyno run or 2 w/ wideband AF reading so you can make sure you're not running too lean. Better safe than sorry. You don't necessarily need a tune on the dyno but a AF ratio check is a good idea.

Definitely get the AF done... good plan. I'd think about getting a tune now though as you may be able to reap 10-15hp from it and a little better driveability. not a requirement but a nice-to-have.

It depends, but it could range from $200-300 for a custom tune. If you just get your A/F checked it probably will be like $50 or so. You'll just have to call around and compare prices

basic 2-3 runs w/ wideband AF is usually from 50-100 bucks. Anything more is highway robbery. A tune is usually 125-300 plus the chip (~125-400). Figure a solid dyno tune will set you back about 500 bucks all together. You can use something like an X-Cal2 and have them tune your car with it on the dyno which lets you change the tune later on if you add gears, or bigger injectors etc..

If you want some help finding a dyno in your area post a "need dyno shop in cleveland - cuz cleveland rocks" thread and someone will chime in.
