i have had a bbk cai on my car since i bought it and its one of the fender mount styles and i hear the ram air styles work a lot better........ do u think it would be beneficial if i cut the chrome pipe and put a k&n filter on the end of it to make it the ram air style intake like jlt makes?????does that sound like a good idea cause i realy dont feel like buyin a new intake

it's really up to you... whatever you do, dont buy a new intake... its just not worth the money.

i cut/modded my intake because i had a serious problem with it which is completely fixed now that its a ram style. if you dont have a problem then why bother? just make sure you clean your filter once in a while (people tend to forget because its hidden but it gets dirtier down in the fender).

most people that have cut the intake like i did have noticed more power and more noise. just make sure you try to fashion a heat shield of some type for it.

I had one just like the BBK and took it back off and put the stock one back on and put a Amsoil filter in it,took the snorkle off, and called it a day.

No not you! I could understand if it was causing problems. But the original thread starter seems to be having no problems. He seems to think the RAI would give him more HP. Which odds are it would actually decrease HP w/o a heat shield. Which requires even more fabrication + what he would already have to do to modify his current intake to make it Ram Air.
