Hey guys just wanted to ask if anyone has an specific information as to the danger of using 1.25 billet aluminum spacers. I got a little ahead of my self and ordered a set. there on the car now and the cars looks nice and seems to handle the same. Please let me know if you have ever read or know of anyone that has suffered damage to hub, bearings or if any one has suffered anything any worse.

 

if they were dangerous do you think they would be selling them.

 

Yes they would sell them. People make profit selling lots of items that could cause danger. Guns, tobacco, and lots of stuff for cars and trucks, including cheap washer style wheel spacers, nitrous in the wrong hands or less intelligent hands can be very dangerous or if used improperly cause frostbite or worse!!!

Yes common sense can make sure these above items do not cause danger, but my question remains is there any danger or harmfull effects, MOSTLY ASKING ABOUT MY CAR ,that can be caused by using wheel spacers??? Wheel it cause faster wear to suspension or bearings???

 

Id worry about enough thread left to hold the wheels on. I used some spacers a long time ago. and broke some wheel studs, which are cheap enough to fix, But it was a hell of a surprise seeing a wheel and tire pass mon the road, then all of a sudden my car falls over!! This was long ago with a V8 Vega and trying to fit to large a tire combo on the back.

 

It's a block of metal that goes between your wheel and your hub... What could possibly go wrong. The wheel is still physically connected at the same point it always has been, It should have no impact at all on the suspention, berings, (or even how fast your car goes so who needs em?) or anything for that matter. It's no different than running wider tires, only you don't get any of the extra traction... If your that nervous sell them on Ebay.

 

The ones i bought and installed or the billet aluminmum style that have studs built in. The spacer goes on the hub, and is secured with 5 recessed lug nuts, then the rim goes on the spacers built in studs, and is tightned and held in place with the exsisting lug nuts.

 

Post a pic of it, I would like to see how it looks.

Looks good, how about afull view pic from the rear and low so we can see how the spacing is from the back.

 

Thanks for the reply but it is different from running wider tires, the offset of wider aftermarket wheels has been changed to compensate the difference there fore not changing the supension geometry. They look good on the car and the cars seems to handle fine, except when turing sharp corners, it seems to lay over on the sidewall alot more than before. Im just going to list them on ebay for 50.00 dollars shipped, thats almost 20 dollars less than i paid. So if anyone is interested they will be listed tonight.

 

I think they look good! I would of probably bought them from you! but Iam in the process of purchasing some 17x10.5 Bullits for the rear! so i really have no use for them?

 

yeah thats what my roommate heard from ppl on this bullitt forum hes on. the spacer makes your car handle a lot worse and puts a lot of stress on that axle bearing.

 

Yep they were freaking me out, i should be ashamed of myself for that impulse buy, oh well thats what happens when the buy it now button outruns your brain... LOL Anyway feeling much better there off the car and up for sell on ebay now. thanks for the replies...
