Default Gtech Pro Gforce Meter $34.99 hot deal

http://www.softwareandstuff.com/CES10539.html

These were over $100 a while ago. And nothing as good as the new Pro units.

I had a different model 10 years ago and it actually worked. And was within 2/10ths of my actual drag runs.

Trick is you have to have it perfectly Level, and run on a perfectly level stretch. I used to just use the same stretch of road.

Pretty good on seeing if those new mods did anything and better than seat of the pants judgement.

They are also selling them on ebay, The auctions are ending in the mid $20's. Same company.

This is the company that makes them, Their new one's are way more sophisticated and way more expensive.

Check out the new units' Pretty impressive in accuracy!! Download and play the movie in the link below.

I finally tested it out tonight on a old straight stretch from my youth that me and some friends measured out with a tape measure to exactly a quarter mile.

Dam if this thing didnt register dead on. I just got my car 2 weeks ago and no major mods yet. It does have Pi heads. and a magnaflow cat back. Steeda shifter.

I welded on Subframe connectors 2 days ago.

Crappy futura 245s on the back. But i managed a 14.42 @ 98.6mph best with launching @ super low rpm and letting it bog, Launching and burning up the tires put me in the mid and low 15s. I made about 8 passes. This is 37 degrees out with cold crappy tires. The last 4 passes stayed in the 14.4s so this things is dead on consistant and acurate enough.

Tomorrow my upper and lower control arms are going on, and O/R X pipe, and Under drive pullies. I have a zex nitrous system waiting to Go on also.

What i did like about this little gizmo is u can put in the weight of the vehicle and get a actual on the Fly Hp numbers, and a Max HP after a blast. And while your driving it displays actual "G"'s. Which im taking notes of so while im doing mods ill be seeing if my actual SOTP G's are going up in 3rd gear from 3000 to 6000 rpms.

The max Hp readin with putting 3500 lbs as my Weight was 221hp on all 4 hp pulls i did. This is based on g's and wheel spin doesnt matter, it doesnt record really till u hook up. So as i do my Mods ill be able to see if they do anything.

I have some Nitto DRs coming, the tires that were on it when i bought it Dont even squeal or leave a mark, They are hard as a rock!!

but most of the fun is doing it yourself. And it is nice to have this little cheap meter to see if those little tweaks help.

Id love to have the new one, but its not needed. This was a steal. Id recommed it to anyone, a cheap dash dyno.

thanks for the link and a good read. U have the new one??

Thats what im trying to do is to find a constant way to go by gs, to check improvements. Mines the cheapo one, but does the same. For the price i cant be beat.

Thats strange yours is .8 seconds off as you said?? Testing tonight mine was dead on the 1/4 distance measurement. But im not sure if its Starting the clock right as soon as you start moving. But the distance is dead on.

The store has them for sale on ebay now and selling in the mid $20s plus shipping. Still a good tweaking devise. Upon my mods tomorrow, ill be able to see how correct it is.

Did you get an hp readings on yours?? would you say they are dead on or not?? Do you still have and use your meter?? I doubt i wouldve bought the $200 one, but i couldnt resist this steal.

I paid $110 for mne new in the box in October 2003. I forget who makes it, but it is not a G-Tech.

I have found that they loose accuracy for some reason when you get tire spin. This might explain why some of your launches when you spun, put you in the 15's.

I don't use it much as the "fun factor" died and everyone makes fun of it (lol). But, I think they have their place. I will definately use it at the track again.

Last winter when I was using it, I was consistantly seeing runs in the mid 14's...which was believable for my mods at the time and altitude.

My HP readings were generally around 200 with peak numbers ocurring at around 35 mph.

Keep in mind, the hp data if neither flywheel or rwhp....I call it "net hp". You have to subtract wheel slip and drag for example.

fwhp>rwhp>net hp

I find the hp data to be relative and hopefully a good way of measuring mods...not an exact science.

I have the original G-tech. The rwhp numbers were 3 off but the trap speed was the correct, the ET on the unit was significantly lower. 3-4 tenths. Pretty good for what it cost me ($50 shipped brand new)

Even if it is off compared to track ET, it is a CONSTANT, that will let me test to see if mods are doing anything, and practice launchs on a deserted strip of road. And use the same road every time.

Launching the same and shifting the same, im getting within 1/100ths times of previous runs, the car is consistant as can be, hmm bracket racing anyone??

this unit is extremely small, You might think by looking at it its the size of a radar detector, but its half that. For the cheap price, im happy.

Putting on pullies and a O/R pipe in about an hour. and test them out to see any gains.
