Default SLP midpipe

I think I posted about this once a while ago but I actually took some pictures to demonstrate the problem this time. Is it just me or does the SLP exhaust hang way too damn low? I want to drop the car with some H&R's but I have enough of a problem with speed bumps as it is. I haven't actually measured it but you can see from the pictures how close the midpipe is to the ground. I tried loosening everything and jacking it up a bit but I think I have to try it once more. The damn pipes that hook up to the manifolds just dictate the rest of the exhaust and they hang way too low.... anyone else have the same problem or any solution for it?

I assume this is the modular kit that allows the use of cats or not? I do have the same kit and admit that it is possibly it's down fall. But I am running saleen springs and speed bumps are not a problem. Some times turning into some places where there is a drop I do drag a little. The SLP headers will help alot. And to sum it up, with any lowered vehicle you will have to give some on where you go. Even road kill becomes a problem. Trust me, don't try to strattle a skunk. That was just nasty. Try to readjust the system. I found that the down pipes from the header can be turned slightly to pull the rest up just a little. But that is still only a half inch or so. Hope this helps.

When I got mine, I got the LTs and midpipe at the same time. With the longtubes, the midpipe sits very very well. I've never scraped my LT's OR cats and I go over many speed bumps every day at my univeristy. I did have a problem with my LMII cat back tho. I took it to my local shop, and we put it on the lift. With a tranny jack, we jacked of the midpipe, and simply rotated the pipes to allow more clearance. Has worked great ever since.
If you go under, try rotating the pipes and not simply lifting them up, as CSN416524 mentioned also. Hope this helps too!

BTW I'm lowered 1.5"

Thanks for the input. I'll have to go ahead and try it one last time and see if rotating the pipes a bit helps anything. The only problem with that is I don't see the midpipe fitting the downpipes from the manifolds if I rotate the downpipes at all and it's a real PITA moving the pipes on the catback and keeping them from banging against the frame again.... but I have to give it another shot if I ever plan on dropping this thing. I swear whitethunder's midpipe with a 1.5 drop looks as low as mine without a drop.

Yeah but remember we are already lower. I checked your pics again and you are lower than mine. Which kit do you have exactly? Mine looks like his. As I said and you touched on, the down pipes are more for tweak. It seems that you are looking for more than that. A freind of mine had the same problem as you with a different kit and he just fabbed some custom brakets to pull it up. I'll try to get some pics of it. I've only seen it. I think he also made his down pipes shorter. He also complains of the heat coming through the floor board.

Also, I just checked all the pictures posted. If you are modular, the pipe between the cats and the cat back, they can be turned alot to gain clearance. The kit says to put them horizontal with the car but you can tweak it.
