I was wondering has anyone painted their stock bullets black here? Is there anypaint out there so you can do this yourself that wont crack off?

Or how much does it cost to bring them to someone?

 

about 4 years ago some assclown at school bought a GT after i did and painted his rims black without prep work and they started to chip real bad. im sure if its done right then it can be done. just dont use wheel cleaners on them. thats how my caliper paint faded real bad they used to bling black

 

Yes I have seen idiots who dont do any prep work and dont get me started on the cleaner on the calipers...lol.....I'm thinking if theres a way to powdercoat without using heat to cure it I think I might go down that route

 

I bought some bullitts with DR's on them off ebay that had been used on a 350z.. I only use the wheels and tires at the drag strip so I don't care what they look like. The guy who use to own them got rid of the pony center caps and painted them a darker grey, which also chipped. I dunno you never hear about anyone who does this.. hrmmm

 

Well yeah but theres gotta be someone or some kind of paint to do this. I have somewhat new tires on my rims and I really dont wanna get new ones at the time.

Yes I have havent considered the cost though and if they can do it with the tires on. Not to mention if there is a process that you can do it without heat curing it I dunno if thats even possible?

 

I painted my dd bullitts that I use for the track and did do all the prep work and they look just fine. The first time I did the first rim though it looked like **** but I went back and re did it and now it matched the other black rims up front really well.

 

I used to work at a powdercoating shop and there is no way to due it without heating them and no way with the tires on they must cure in an oven at 400 for 20 mins and is very expensive

 

One of my friends works at a powercoating shop with his dad that owns the shop. They quoted me at 50 a wheel. That's not bad at all.

 

Thats pretty good and they will look factory when done.

 

Thats a great deal concidering the prep they have to do plus the cost of the powder

 

I've seen people use Duplicolor rim paint, and has turned out real nice when you take your time and not rush. Also my dad baught a powder coating set from Craftsman so we can do powder coating in his shop, rather than take stuff to a friend who does wheels for $75 ea. any color.
