Default hood was in a fender bender today

well to say the least my hood lost. i didnt notice until it had happened a few hours before. im pretty pissed about it. now i need some help. if this thing is going to be more expensive to fix. then it would cost me to buy a new hood, shipped and painted. than that is exactly what i plan on doing.

dont know where to look for hoods though. i think the cobra R hood will be good enough for my taste. any help would be great.

screw a hood. no hood = better airflow\induction and it keeps the engine cooler, giving you like 30 hp at the wheel. i see a lot of CRX's with no hoods and their cars are fast.

My friend just got a manual v6 that he bought from a private seller..The Guy had the 03-04 cobra front bumper, rear bumper, and the 03-04 cobra hood..also has the cobra wheels..looks awesome but it's just so damn slow..The exhaust isn't that loud but better then stock I guess.

I went through www.virtualbodyshop.com when I needed body parts. Their parts cost about what getting a part painted costs by itself and you get body-part-x painted to match and shipped to your door. Saved me like a grand on 2 fenders and a bumper.

Installing the hood is a PITA of the highest order. Getting everything to line up takes at least 2 and sometimes 4 guys.

Hoods arent that hard to line up if you have two guys. its 2 bolts on each side, plus adjusting the latch if it doesnt close right. you need to go with OEM, or a high quality aftermarket company who does hoods. I would suggest something from ford if you can, but if not, Steeda or Cervinis would be the next choice.

If anything is hard, its matching the paint. getting it down to the 0 on the computer is great but takes time and then you might still have to blend from the edges of the hood .. in.

If you get a good qaulity hood you don't have any problem's.Took me and 1 other guy about 30 minutes to install mine. Now the hood pins are a whole different story.
