Oil Pickup question

Default Oil Pickup question

Alright.......I know my car is in the shop but since I can see whats being done to it right now I have a question ....would a damaged oil pickup cause my engine to give it a hard start and a knocking noise? I first heard the knock and shut it off and had it towed. The oil pan was pretty well dented on the front sump. I'm trying to figure out the extent of the damage.

Anyone know? I'm not to familiar with the oil pickups on the 4.6L

Default

If you crimped the pickup tube I would say yes on both. Starving the engine of oil can be fatal if run for too long.

No I pretty much knew what was going on as soon as it started stopped the car where it was and looked around the engine area and called a tow truck....so I should be ok
