Default Throttle body question.

If I was to buy a bigger Throttle Body would it be a direct change or is there other things I would need to buy also?

Nope. It is a simple swap as far as I can recall.

You might want to also consider a plenum to go along with the throttlebody, as that will be where the restriction comes from once you put on the tb, or you can just port the stock one. Either way, more air will be able to enter the throttlebody, but the same amount of air will be able to enter into the plenum as before. I myself have the bbk 75mm tb and I also bought the bbk plenum to go along with it. I added a bbk cold air kit at the same time so I can't say exactly how much the tb/plenum helped but with the entire setup I could definately tell a difference.

C&L and Accufab tend to also have popular plenums. Trickflow also makes one. I am sure there are others. Each one has a little different look. Maybe search around to find pics of each to see which one you like.

To answer your initial question, to add the throttlebody is a simple swap. You just swap your tps (be careful not to round the screws) and IAC valve over to the new and of course attach the throttle cable.

(I am speaking from my install on a 96 GT. I do not have experience working on the 99+ cars, but assume that the install would be the same. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. Just trying to help)

I concur BTW with what he said. I just kep my answer to the TB swap question. But, in truth swapping a TB on your car will do nothing w/o either porting or adding a plenum. You can have a pro port it for about $70.

I bought my setup from here RPM Outlet . I don't know if you have already purchased the tb, but they do have package deals for the tb & plenum, although you can just purchase the plenum by itself.

Just realized that they do sell the accufab plenum here too. They do not have the other brands though.
