Compare the 20's to the 17s. Its soo hard of a decision for me. the 20's look soooo great IMHO. But i need to lower the car with em. The machs look good, but they look plain when compaired to the 20s. Ahh. I'm sellin those 20's in the pictures for 1000$$. Comes with tires too. Anybody who likes the look lemme know.

20's are WAY too big for New Edges. They don't look right and I'm being nice by saying that. Lower the car with your Machs and it would look sick.

Also! i was thinking, those are the actual FORD mach 1 wheels off of a mach 1. so they are 8 inch wide. Should i go with wheel spacers? It seems to me like the offset of a mustang pushes the front tires out of the car more than the back, or maybe its just the way the fenders are on the back, idk, id like to see a car similar to mine with spacers.

I'd slap some reasonable spacers in back for sure. It'll look way better. 20mm maybe.

BTW... 20's look HORRIBLE on 94-04 even if the wheel itself looks good. That's just life.

Just lookin on the americanmuscle store. I seen a pair of spacers. 1 inch. so its about 26mm or so. but i read it and it says it wont fit factory wheels. My machs are factory. any reason as to why they say this?

the right 20 inch wheel will look great, you just have to spend the extra money and get a 10 inch in the rear. i run 20 inch foose on mine, 10 inches in the rear....

17 can look of, but you still gotta buy a wider rear wheel for it to look good.....thought about spacers, but you can still see the skinny rear tires and that does not look cool. i was just going to buy a set of 10 wide stockers, but decided to go for it with the 20's.

i see. I agree, id love to have a nice set of some foose's. Ahh too expensive, ill wait, but i got alot of shake out of those 20's. i still get the shake with my 17s. it makes my passenger seat shake violently with the 20's then when im going straight it dont shake, my 17's i dont notice it as bad. i think somethings wrong with the car. It has been rebuilt, but when its been aligned, they said it lined up perfect. but i think the back may be out a bit. not sure. the tires dont wear improperly. ALSO! about the spacers i mentioned earlier. will those on this site work with my machs? It says aftermarket, which there is an aftermarket mach wheel, mines factory machs. So i need some input, im gonna try the spacers out. that'd prob help me catch posi better so i can do donuts better haha! funny thing is i have to take a left turn to do a donut where the right tire always spins. but someone confirm the spacers for me.

go big or go home

naa but serously, 20's just look tacky on a new egde stang. 05+ sure, but 99-04? hell no.

go with some 17';s or 18's, they actually look like they belong on the car.

No they won't. Just because 20's are the cool thing to do these days doesn't mean they look good on every car. 99-04 looks like crap, there's no way around that. Even with having the bigger rim, the tires still look skinny and crappy. 17s or 18s look nice especially with a 315 tire in the back.

^^^ +1

Just because the wheel can fit on the car, does not mean the wheel fits with the car.

Its like with chicks, fit the jeans to the ***, dont stuff the *** in the jeans to fit.

I have NEVER seen 20's on a 99-04 that look good to me. The 05+ works well with 20's

i am always amazed by the closed minds of the "muscle car" guys....more so the mustang fans, in the 80's it was all about the 15 inch.....ten hole stockers were the only cool thing. then when the 16 pony wheels were everywhere, everybody had to run them.....now its the 17 inch, come on guys....free your minds.

i am so glad i do not follow the trends, that i do not need to run what others think is cool.....

so the way i see it, you can run 17 inch stockers like everybody else...or you can spend a few bucks and set yourself apart from the thousands of other cars that all look the same....if i had wanted to be like everybody else i would have left it stock.

Anything bigger than 18 inches will decrease the performance of the car if being all show and no go is ok with you then more power to you but don't expect any respect for the extra you spent on big rims 20s scream look at me and they draw away from the car it's a Mustang not a Cadillac.

take away from performance? i am not trying for the pole at road america, the car is plenty fast for the daily commute. will spank a v6.....without even opening the valve on the bottle, and the v-8's...well that what the bottle is for.

get off your high horse, the reason we mod our cars is to make them unique. this attracts attention, like it or not.

If those pics are of your car and you did not swap motors then it is a 6 you can tell by the strip on the door and the v6 front bumper

First off, nobody here has an issue with 20 inch rims on cars that they look good on.

But hey, if you want to be that "Guy" that everyone looks at his car with his rediculous looking 20 inch rims and gets laughed at, thats yer perrogative

most of us will agree 20 inch rims look fantastic on a lot of cars, but the 99-04 mustangs look terrible with them. Period. it raises the car like 2 inches off the ground, they look like ******* wagon wheels, even when the car is lowered the wheel wells just dont look right with 20 inch wheels in them

It might be the shape of the wheel wells and the height of the axle in proportion to the rest of the car, but 20 inch rims look like *** on any mustang under 2005. 05+ you can get away with 20's, hell, 20's in the front and 22's in the rear even look good, that bodystyle manages to pull it off nicely.

you maybe be one of those guys who thinks any car in the planet looks good with big fat dubs yo, but im sorry to say that 20 inch rims look ******* stupid on a 99-04, rims that large do NOT compliment the bodystyle of that model, instead they DOMINATE the look of the car and most people on here tend to agree that cars should look good as a whole, and everything should fit together

dont call us close minded because you have no ablity to look at a car as a whole.

lol

I wasn't paying attention I thought you and the guy who started the thread were the same guy my bad but it's dosn't change the fact that 20s will slow you down

If I see a guy in a stang and he has some huge blindingly shiny rims that are all crazy looking even if his stang is fast and sharp I'm going to laugh it would be like a hot chick with chrome teeth....a huge turn off

keep it simple
with 17x9 03 cobras in the front and 17x10.5 in the back
