Question low base like noise and slight vibration?!? what can it be?

I am getting a low "base like" noise when I am accelerating from 30-50 as well as some light shaking which makes the center console rattle and the noise drives me crazy. When I am cruising somewhere between 60-80 it smooths out but there are some speeds where the low base noise comes back and the rattling begins.

I dont know how else to describe this but what CAN it be? I've gotten new tires, the car is balanced and aligned

Just want to see what ideas you guys have before I go and take it to the shop to see if they can pinpoint the problem

thanks,

ceez

You could have a hole in your exhaust which would cause a drone in the car? How many miles on your car?

exhaust leak maybe. kinda clueless without hearing it.

we had part of our exhaust of our 5.0 touching the bottm of the car and it would smooth out at higher speeds but at your range you mentioned it would raddle alittle and make a noise.

check and make sure none of the exhaust piping is touching the frame.

I had a friend with something similiar to your problem. He had an exhaust leak. If you exhaust is stock, and even if it isnt, look underneath the car for a black streaks around the joints in your exhaust system. These indicate leaks. Make sure you check everything from the headers back even above the mufflers. It doesnt have to be a very big hole or leak but it it enough to make that noise. Also, the rattle might be a loose exhaust hanger or something. Sit in the driveway and just rev it if it gets worse than it's a leak.

im having this same low bass drown type of noise when I get to the 35-45 mph range too .. sounds like same problem.. I thought it was something with the tranny going bad in that particular gear, but still not sure.. let me know if you find out
