Default Steeda Tri-AX short shifter for TR3650

Hi guys,

This is my first post and I stumbled upon this forum via the Americanmuscle.com website whilst looking for a short shifter for my Aussie Ford TE50.

The TE50 uses the tremec 3650, hence I was looking at the following steeda shifter...

http://www.americanmuscle.com/noname1.html

However, when I look at the photos, the gear **** seems to lean towards the driver side (left). Is the steeda gear lever bent towards the driver side? In Australia we use right hand drives, so my concern is that it will be bent away from me.

Thanks for your help.

I believe the Steeda sticks do lean towards the driver side but I think you can use a Hurst stick w/ the Steeda or you can just get a Hurst shifter w/ the 8"X3" Chrome stick. That's what I got w/ the classic white ball on top.

you could get an MGW and with it, you can lean it either way left or right. damn fine shifter too.

Yes, the steeda shift handle does lean towards the left. You should be able to use the stock shift handle with the steeda shifter. MGW makes an adjustable shift handle as well. That's what I have and it works great.

in any case, the lean is in the handle you use. You can use a stock handle from your car and it should work just great.

what's the chances of you helping me find one of the new 3v 5.4L aussie intakes?

MGW ftw!!!!! You can lean it over there to the right for your right side drive, and its the best shifter I've ever used. Go with MGW

What kind of intake are you after? The most popular ones here for the 5.4Ls is the intake air box made by Bluepower or G&D Performance.

Here is a sneak peak of the Bluepower one.. They retail for around AUD$590. Comes with the filter, the heat shield (box), larger and smoother maf pipe.

I think he's referring to the manifolds.

yeah, I'm talking about the intake manifold, not the snorkel. The big hopefully aluminum piece between the valve covers.

I'd imagine they're about $2000AUS but I want to see what it'll take to get one over here.

Oh I see.... over hear we usually refer to them at Inlets. Intakes for us is short for Air Intake Sorry can't help you with manifolds. You can always pop over to www.fordforums.com.au and ask.

Back on this topic...MGW looks like it might be the winner here. Does anyone know how much throw reduction this shifter gives?
