Default tire size

what I want to know is, how wide of a tire can I get under my '04 without removing my quad shocks? my wheels are factory bullitt's (17x8's) any help would be greatly appreciated.

On factory Bullitts, I wouldn't go wider than a 275. However, if you get aftermarket wheels, say 17x10.5, you can fit a 315 under there without rubbing.

It's not advisable to run a tire wider than 255 on a 8" rim, 245 -255 is as big as you should go. The sidewalls will lose strength if you have them all bulged out on a rim that's too narrow and you lose cornering traction, induce squirm and risk a sidewall blowout if you whack a good size pothole. For 8.5" rim use 255-265, for 265 and 275 width tires use a 9" rim, etc...

you can put a 275/40/17 Nitto Drag radial on no problem. Granted your cornering ability goes down but not all that much. But with the drag radial you dont hae to worry about the sidewall issue
