Basically. It was the intake they came out with years ago and then remade it and slapped it on the bullitt. I'd rather get PI heads then get a bullitt intake. you'll see alot bigger gains.

Its what the bullit is based off of. I would only get it if you plan to stay with none PI heads. If you want any kinda power from that motor then you need to get the SVO heads and that intake or step up for alot cheaper to the PI heads and intake found on every 99-04 GT.

I love my mustang to death and i am almost coming to 100,000 miles so would it be a better choice to get a new 2004 4.6 and swap it in?

If yours is running fine why do that?

If your looking for more power just find used 99-04 Heads and intake and swap them over. With a tune its noraml to pickup over 60rwhp with all stock ford parts. you can gain more by using some aftermarket cams aswel.

The 99-04 PI heads and intake flow alot better then 96-98 parts and bolt right on with little fuss.

how much do you estimate it would run for the heads and intake? also do you think i could do it myself? im a little unsure about messing the internals of the engine....how much would labor be in chicago area for the full swap?

you can pick up a complete 99-04 2V PI engine for just a few hundred. You have a bunch of mileage so I'd say freshen the bottom and add PI heads or buy a used 4.6 and be happy.

it's not a swap... it's a direct replacement. and it's quite easy with a couple friends and the right tools.
