Default Going to the track tomorrow nite.

Have not been to test and tune since early May. Put the dr's and skinnies on after dinner tonite. Wish me well, I have hardley raced this season so I hope I don't get tree'd too bad. I will post up the results of the evenings carnage.

Had a blast tonite. Only made 7 passes due to working later than I wanted to and someone oiling down the track. The d.a. was 1,550 all night so I was pretty sure I would not crack the 12's. Ran a best of 13.023 @ 106.
Had 5 runs of 13.0's and two 13.39's when I blew off the tires and had a crap 1.97 sixty foot time. All but the two lousy one's corrected to 12.80 - 12.90.
Trapped 106 plus twice and 104 twice, 106 is fast for my heap.
Won 6 out of 7 races, only loss was to a Ls1 WS6 Trans Am 12.87-13.031
we were dead even until 3rd gear when he started to walk away. Raced a couple of Neon SRT4's one was stock I'm pretty sure because it ran 14.251 @98.90
then ran one that I know was not stock he ran a 12.981 @107.66 to my 13.031@106.45 but I tree'd his sorry *** and beat him by .1171. I love those real tight races. All in all I thought the car ran right where it should and it was great fun to get out and race again finally. I was really rusty on the tree though, gotta get out more often. The fastest three cars at the track were all Mustangs, a 67 fastback ran a best of 9.72 spraying a small block.

Great runs Dean. Thanks for the report. I look forward to beating your *** someday and those times just once again prove that it is possible.

Modular Depot has them. If you are a memeber, you simply add your times and data from your slip and the program does the rest.

Yep you are right there. I love MD's tools and stuff, great resource. It's the best site I have been too for serious modular racers. Someone put alot of work into building that site.

All you need is traction and you will beat those times Blake. Once I do the cams and spray I hope to run 11.50's.
I ran across a young Mustang racer last night running an identical car to mine only he has a procharger with an intercooler. He is putting down 435 rwhp but was only running 12.70's due to traction. He was running street radials and could not even launch at 2,000 rpm. His friends about soiled themselves when I ran 13.02 with an automatic and 250 hp. I always get a kick out of people coming up to me and asking what shot I'm spraying or what type of blower I'm running. I open the hood and all you see is my plenum and TB. I r an a 1972 Mustang notchback with an old fart like me driving and beat him by 4 car lengths. He followed me to the pits and we talked Stangs for a while. Turns out he bought the car brand new in high school and has kept it ever since. He had just slipped a roller cam into it and was dissapointed that he was only running 13.5's. You gotta love these new mod motors! 13 flat with stock, heads, cams, block with 281 ci.

You are right about that. I leave my hood open to cool down and people see my car run 13.5s and all they see is a plenum/tb and they are in awe when they see me hook with street tires on normal PSI. I just spin the rocks off twice, and launch my car at 1200 and I get zero spin. Tires turn about as sticky as a dot radial would.
