Default How To Improve My 0-60 Times

I'm supposed to be writing a paper for school but I'm instead trolling YouTube. I came across this video a while back and it just blows my mind. I've always liked Sti's and this is all on the stock turbo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56AB3F-33tk

3.7 seconds 0-60 and 9.5 to 100? That's killer.

I've done a few runs in my GT with just a friend and stopwatch and the best I got to date was 6.5 seconds to 60 and 15.5 to 100. I know the pro's tested my 2000 back in the day as 5.5 to 60, but what can I do to improve my times? I read the "how-to" in this subsection and it looks like slipping the clutch out from 2-3k on street tires does the trick. Then just speed/powershift? I'm not OVERLY concerned with some clutch wear... it IS a wear item and can be replaced.

Just something I've been wondering about lately...

Yeah it's a 2000 GT. It's bone stock right now except for a K&N drop-in filter. I'm also sitting on brand-new 245/45 Sumitomo Z's.

This is the first manual car that I have actually owned and I just wanted to know the "correct" procedure, if you will.
