Thanks a lot man. I would love to take it to the track but that's going to be awhile before that happens. I can barely afford to keep gas in it, let alone be able to pay for a repair if something broke. I've been out of school for 2 years also and I have to be enrolled in college before I turn 19 or I'll have to pay my own health insurance and stuff. In all reality I shouldn't even own this car, being an 18 year old high school drop out working a minimum wage job.

My first ever trip to the track
2002 v6
CAI and a poormans catback(factory catback cut off and a glasspack welded in)

best time of the night(attached pic)
Reaction----1.2098(not my best of the night)
60 ft----2.4740
1/8 mile----10.7492@67.98
1/4 mile----16.5732@82.25

made 7 passes
got stomped by:
small block Chevy T bucket(13.4771)
Chevy Nova(11.9851)
Mustang GT(same one x2)(14.9389 and 15.1532<-he couldn't get traction, however his best time of the night was a 14.2)
(a different)Mustang GT(14.2382)

stomped on:
Honda Integra(18.6062)(my best pass)
Nissan Altima(didn't really stomp him, acctually very close race, he was ahead by a fender until the last maybe 100 feet then i just nosed past him)(16.9770)

I finally got a chance to "race myself." I had an *experienced* friend race my 00 stock v6 against my 72 olds cutlass 455 at out last bracket race, keep in mind i had my cutlass tuned down so i could put a higher car count in my brother's class (cutoff is 14.00). I've ran a 13.32 with it in Topeka, KS.
End times of this one were 14.066 @ 96 with the olds and 16.845 @ 82.99 with the stang. My R/T was a .020 (2nd best of the weekend for me!)

Definitely, unless his location is WAY above sea level. New edge V6s can run low 15s stock.

I ran a 15.3 with just a tune in my 01 V6 auto.

I never went to the track when I was completely stock, but I can't imagine a tune helping THAT much.

The d. alt. was about 3500 feet that day... other reasons possibly is i have the check engine light on, when i reset it i can feel a difference, until it comes on again... it pulled 3 codes, one was EGR (I cleaned that out), the other 2 im not the sure about but i know the part for one is more than i can spend right now and the other is the OBD II p1000 notification or whatever that is (according to the shop that checked the codes).

If you were at 3500ft with your times the car would have run 16.1 at sea level.

Thats a much better time, I dont run my mustang often since my olds is faster (and has WAAAAY more torque) but i see people with v6's out there and most are 16.3-16.8 depending on weather

that sounds about right to me, if i emptied my car out and ran on like an 1/8 tank of gas i could maybe hit 16.2 or 16.3

well gas is around 6.2lb/gal, x10 is 62 pounds for less than a full tank, using the general rule of 100lb=.1seconds, thats only around 6 hundreths faster
