Default M/T ET Streets Question

I am about to bolt some M/T ET streets in size 28x12.50x16 mounted on some Diamond Racing Joe Lynch specials on to my Bullitt. What tire pressure should I run and what is the optimum RPM range I should launch at? I will be leaving naturally apsirated, but will use the wet kit once my car is "motivated".

If it's your first time ever running on a drag tire like an ET street make a few passes with them about 15psi...and launching about 4k rpms. Any lower in the RPM range and your car will bog down horribly and you wont be happy. Make sure you PRELOAD your car when you launch it, dont just rev it up and sidestep the clutch....THATS HOW YOU BREAK STUFF!!!! Start coming out on the clutch untill you feel it engage....when the lights come down floor the gas and come off the clutch quickly. After you've made a few passes and are comfortable launchin on a very sticky tire...lower the pressure down to 10-12psi and come out strong on the nitrous!! This time you will want to launch around 4500.....the tire is going to bite ALOT harder with the lower PSI.

Good Luck and have fun.

With any sticky tire leave as high in the rpms as you can and still hook.

Well, I've upgraded to 31 spline axles and t-lock. I've also put in some GMS tubular upper and lower control arms. The only thing I expect to break would be tranny synchros or input shaft! LOL...can you say TKO500 upgrade time!

I figured if you were running slicks you know the deal, and had some upgraded parts. The 3650 is pretty strong, i know alot of guys who have launched many times on stock trannys with slicks with upgraded clutchs.

Now lets see some sweet timeslips

Dustin, i wouldnt praise the 3650 tooo much now. I've witnessed a decent few crush that tranny with bold-on supercharger kits and nitrous! I ran a guy who had his rear built/upgraded clutch and flywheel and 2nd gear was gone 1st launch. Another lost 3rd gear on the dyno....only making 313whp, the blown one was puttin out 400. Had to put two other trannys in for other friends who lost gears in their '03 gt's.

It's bad when guys at the dealership even tell you in the parts dept...that tranny isnt the best and to swap it out if possible.

I think those ppl were unlucky if you've seen what what dustin does on a daily basis and at the track you would know why
