Default Slower than stock dammit!

Well last night i went to the track with my mods and ran slower than i did stock!!! I ran a 14.2 with 4.10 gear, offroad prochamber and magnaflow catback, and sct xcal 2 tune wtf??? I ran faster srock! I had absolutely no traction. I was on street tires but even so i should be in the damn 13's at least! I tried a million different things even when i revved to 1200 rpms and let the clutch out slow i spun through 2nd. These 4.10's suck on the track why did i buy them!!!??? Someone tell me what to do so i'm not so embarrassed next time at the track. TIPS PLEEEEEZZZ!!!! This gear is so high i have no idea what to do with it. Later this month i'm buyin lower control arms so that should help i hope. If this problem doesn't go away soon i'm gonna be pissed!

Oke i'm going to say driver error......something in your shifting maybe your 60 foot isnt all that great but with your mods you should be near the 13.5 area at a minimum. I'm at a lost here I know plenty of people that have 4.10s and drop the clutch at 2,500 and can get better times than that

i tried walking it off the line which is what the track guys suggested since i'm on street tires but the best tine of the night was 14.2 stock i easily ran 14 flat and that was with another person in the car and no mods at all!!! I was shifting at 5500-5900 rpms and i wasn't powershifting because i'm unsure exactly how to do it. All i know is that that **** was slow.

reaction time doesnt count towards elapsed time. next time drop some tire pressure. its in your shifting even with a 2.1 you should hit the 13's. my old roommates bullitt hit 13.7 consistantly and all he had on his car was underdrives densecharger CAI and SLP cat back. he slipped it out from 2500 on launches.

Well the heat is killing your power as you can see from the low MPH. If you havent done the manul fan switch yet you might want to look into it. It takes 10 mins to do and you can cool the motor off and get the hot air out from under the hood using the stock fan. It was one of the first things i did to my car so i could cool it at the track while it was stock.

wouldn't you need a electric water pump to really cool the engine down when its off so it circulates the coolant, cuz i would think it would only cool the coolant that is only in the radiator?

Well yes it would cool the coolant in the radiator, but it also pushes alot of air over the engine which cools it off just like when you let the car sit it cools off only it has alot of air moving over it to cool it off. I can get the car from normal heat all the way down to the lower red line in about 45mins to an hour even in hot weather. its a very useful mod if you drag race alot.

with 400 at the wheels, and nittos, i would think i could hit high 12s consistantly w/o powershifting

I really dont think with drag radials and 400rwhp your in the 14's. I bet that program uses vehical weight (which unless you know the actul weight of your car by putting it on scales you wont) to tell you the 1/4 etc...
they are only accute if you have the true weight of your car with you in it.

your 60 foot times are actually not that bad, but theres always room for improvment. you should still be into 13s with 2.2s 60 foots. I can pull 13.8s with 2.3s 60 foots spinning the hell out of first, and slamming 2nd and spinnning. I was running 13.9 before my 3.90s, and now its 13.4s both with 2.0 60 foots. Im going to say you arent that great of a driver and need practice.

ok maybe i need practice but on what what should i practice? And why is the car so slow? It's really aggravating. Also where can i practice i can't go to the track all the time. And i don't heat the tires because they are street tires which require no heating. Where can i get one of those engine cooling fan switch thingies? thanx i really need help show me what i'm doin wrong pleez make me a better racer. It's prolly in my shifting which is why i'm gettin an mgw but until then how should i be shifting?

I didnt read the thread, but your 60 ft can improve, probably along with your shifting. What gear are you in when you cross?

Yea, that 60 foot is not that bad. I mean, 1.9 or so shoudl be your goal woith this car IMO, so you are not too far off. If you had a 1.9, you would have dropped about what 0.3 or so?

I am not sure if I agree with Dustin. I think you MPH is right where it should be. If it is low, it is not low by much. When my car was n/a, I used to trap at 100 mph too with nearly the same mods.

What was the DA when you ran? That could tell us a lot.

BTW, you are not the only person who saw slower times after 4.10's. They are less forgiving and take some practise.

Ok that's great i dunno where to find my DA or whatever that is. All i know is i MUST get better with these 4.10's and my shifting as i have a few money races coming in the next month or two. I at least need to be in the high-mid 13's to win these upcoming races so once again please tell me what to do to solve the problem. I understand the various problems involved but how can i fix these issues?

actually it reads the cars data as i drive. like i get to a stop, start a datalog, and hit it ... and pull thru 4th. Then, i run it through EEC Analyzer, and that reads the MPH, time, etc, and tells me... so meh, i dunno

improve your 60 ft. time to 2 flat or 1.9 and your times will drop alot. with 3.73 i launched from 1200-1300 rpms on goodyear street tires and my 60ft was 2.1 and just with that i ran a 14.5. my best time so far was a 14.2 but that was just my second time ever being at a track.

Oh its one of those where it doenst know the weight. Thats why it just gives an educated guess to the speed and time. Those things are cool but not acturate. But there fun to play with.

And a bullit which has better flowing intake side stock with exhaust and tune should easily trap 103mph easy. I know for a fact the heat is killing your times. I run anywhere form 4 to 5 tenths slower in the heat if i hot lap it. using hte fan mod helps cool her down, but you cant change the outside air which is still very hot.

Yeah that fan switch sounds like a good idea but sounds really complicated to me. Anyways the main thing i wanna know is many of you have told me my shifting is the main problem so how can i shift better. I'm soon getting the MGW shifter so what can i do and how can i do it to shift quicker and better or whatever?

They are assuming you might be a good shifter with a ****ty tune form some company for all we know. All i can say is do the fan mode its simple. Like i said you find the #46 wire from the ecu (any haneys manual or chiltons manual can tell you the color combo on the wire) T off that wire and have it go to switch the other side of the switch needs to go to a good spot for a ground. When you turn the switch on it will complete the ground and turn the fan on HIGH. That along wiht some more pratice and i am sure you will be doing alot faster times. Also like i said the heat is a major factor in times as well.
