Default Going for my 13.3 Friday...

Well, I'm going for my 13.3 with the same bolt ons: JLT CAI, SCT Xcal 2 Tuner, and O/R H with no catback. Yeah it sounds like a farm truck, but I ran my best time like that a few weeks ago.

I got new street tires put on that actually hook a lot better than my old ones, and I'm going to strip a little weight.

If I do indeed get my 13.3 I'm going to try and throw some Nittos on there, and TRY..... TRY to get a 12 second pass on stock gearing, and less than $700 worth in bolt ons.

I'm bringing a video camera with me too since on another board a few people didnt believe I ran a 13.47 with my setup.

2.1 60 foot was my best... on that exact run it was 2.172.

These new tires hook up a lot better and I'm really hoping for a 1.9. I could never get it with the stock goodyear zr45 tires... so heres hoping.

how the hell do you run a 13.4@101 with A 2.1 60' i was thinking you were pulling high 1.8's?

That doesnt even sound possible.

I'm thinking a 1.9 60 foot is possible with the new street tires, and I think a 13.3 is very possible... unfortunately the track visit is most likely off for tomorrow. I still have my catted H pipe on and I dont want to take it off and live with the farm truck noise until my magnapacks arrive.

Next week I guess.

You have a 3v setup with 40 more "rated" HP but its more realistically 30 at the wheels.

The only way I can prove myself is a picture I took of my timeslip against a srt 4 neon. I got called out on another forum, so I dont want to go through that again. I do have some videos back last year before I had my cobra bumper and cowl hood with me running 13.6.

For the record, the winner gets the white slip, loser gets the yellow slip.... my slip is white. My friend with the neon got mad and cranked up the boost and ran a 13.2 to my 13.6 right after.

I got to admit those times look fishy with your mod's and sixty foot time. I know you are not one to lie so you have no need to prove them to me. I'm just surprised that you ran so fast with a poop sixty foot. I'd have to think there is at least a 13.10 in it with any kind of 1.90 launch. Nice driving Taylor

you are probably right about the low 13's with a 1.9 60'

launch has not been good to me. have not tried DR yet.

maybe before the summer is over

Tay, what was your trap with that low run?

I am not calling you out on this, but those times are too fast with your setup yada yada yada.

Generally, trap speed tells you how much hp you are making and if you are trapping at 100/101 that is about right. So a 100 mph run with a 2.1 60 foot just does not add up.

What altitude are you running? Everyone forgets the impact of altitude and I am surprised that I am the first person to mention this. Every 1000 ft will cost you about 0.5 seconds on times like this, so if you are running near sea level, then perhaps that is the missing link and it would explain your times.

"Altitue Rogersville (Ozark) - 1493 "

Its a shame if you guys arent going to believe me... I've had many people that have seen it. They called BS on me at columbiasr.com, but I had a friend thats a part of that board, who saw my run... and I posted my timeslip there too.

I've never lied... never really felt the need... but if you guys dont believe me... well I guess that gives me more motivation to get back out there and run even better.

Thanks

I found a 13.6 video.... this was back before I had my cobra bumper and cowl hood... which means I've learned to drive better and practiced since then... I guess I'll cut that out and post it for ya guys. Doesnt prove I ran a 13.4... but best I've got.

edit - here it is... it was last October that I ran this... since then I got my launches and powershifting down better

http://www.swmmotors.com/dragstrip10-7.mpg

Enjoy

PS thanks guys for being mature about it and not yelling BS BS BS like others have... I appreciate the trust.

Wow...1400 feet. I would think you would be running more like a 14.4 or something like that - LOL

Hum...what do other similar stangs run that you have seen? Is your car about like others? or much faster?

Hah... I didnt get to take it out to the track Friday, so I went out to watch. There was a procharged 05 mustang gt convertible running high 14s, a stock 01-04 mustang gt running 15s..

and finally.... a bolt on gt convertible with drag radials running 13.2.... the only decent mustang out there.

Taylor those are damn good times for such a lightly modded car. You are a good example to others on how much difference the driver makes. I see way too many guys on this site running crappy times with a butt load of mod's or nitrous. Sometimes I don't even know how to respond to posts when people are running mid 13's with a 100 shot. As I have posted before in here 99-04's can be quick cars when driven well. Keep up the good work!

I usally run on Tuesday nights but have only managed to get out once this season so far. I'm itching to run my new drag radials. Last time out I ran a 13.04 @ 106.70 with a **** poor 1.91 sixty foot. I should have gone 12.70's - 12.80's that night. The air was great and it was completely wasted on my worn out Nitto's. These new MT's should do the trick if I ever get out and break them in. We have to hook up with the Punisher too, he also runs at gateway. I'm hoping to go in a couple of weeks when we get back from Florida. By then it will be hot and my car will run slow in the humid crap air,

Yep, but mines an automatic and has no power so that's the least of my worries. I run slicks at national events and the poor thing bogs out of the hole. I actually run faster on dr's because it will spin a little and not bog, although it may bog on these new one's.
