if i buy a mach 1 hood is there any way this system will still work minus the little hood applique?

 

No, the mach 1 hood has the shaker in a different place then where the CDC shaker is placed.

 

so that means that i need to find a salvage shaker intake then to make it look authentic?

 

Technically yes it will fit. How do I know? Because I was screwed over by karkraft.com and had to use my CDC shaker while waiting for karkraft.com to get their shipment in for the special bracket made for the 2V motor using the mach 1 shaker and hood..... they discontinued it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH! I hate karkraft.com, they were the only ones to make it.




The CDC shaker fits, but it leaves gaps around the base of the shaker kit allowing some water to get in. It's not bad but it's noticeable. It barely clears the hood.
