Default 05 Deep Dish Bullitt Issues?

There are several threads on other boards talking about the fitment issues they are having with the new 2005 Deep Dish Bullitt Wheel Set of 4 (2-18x9 & 2-18x10) offered by MustangTuning. Seems that the 18x9 Deep Dish wheels are not clearing the front brake caliber. These folks are using wheel spacers in order to get the wheels on the car.

Are there any plans to address this issue (If it can be addressed) by either a manufacturing change on the 18x9's? Or by adding a spacer to the set?

I was going to order a set this morning, but after reading up on the issues late last night I decided to wait until the dust settles.

Other than the issues with the fronts, everyone agrees that the craftmanship on these wheels are the best!

I just heard of this on Friday. I am working to resolve this problem. They will fit with a small wheel spacer 1/8-1/4" in the front on the GTs. We will probably end up sending them with the spacers in the near future.

Thanks to both of you for the quick responses! Nice to see that there are some companies that still know what good service means. I still plan on ordering a set, just waiting for a final disposition.

It looks like these wheels fit the '05 V6 fine. Its the larger brakes on the GT that give that slight rub that makes them need the spacer. I'll have a resolution by the end of the day.

You may want to ensure that some sort of info / factoid statement is added to the Deep Dish set discriptions as a requirement or notice to buyers. Some of those guys were a little upset about the ordeal.

Man! I want those wheels! Chomping at the bit to order some. I have faith in your team. Thanks again!

FYI...

Seems that a 7/32's wheel spacer solves the clearance issue. Someone tried 5/16", 1/4" and finally settled on 7/32 for the thinnest spacer that would work.

I let the manufacturer know of the problem and they are providing two 1/4" spacers for each wheel kit. For anyone that already has these wheels and needs these, please let us know and we will send them out to you. Anyone that bought spacers, let us know also and we will credit you for them.

Does anyone know if you can run the deep dish 18x10's on the front without spacers? I want to order a set and run 275's up front, and 285's in the rear. Rousch runs 275's up front and they look great!

The issue is actually with the size of the calipers on the front. Both the 9" and 10" will not fit due to contacting the caliper. However, you can safely run a 275 on a 9" wheel. I plan on running 275/40/18's up front and 295/45/18's on the rear.

Running a 10" up front will most likely have clearance issues when turning

10" are a no go in the front because of clearance issues when turning and so forth.
