Default Deep Dish FR500 Rims

Customer Service/Admin,

I spent most of the day admiring the FR500 Deep Dish Rims on your site, and researched around for other FR500 replicas as well as Ford Racing's original

My Questions to Mustang Tuning are:

1. Who is making these Deep Dish replicas (wheelreplicas.com ??)

2. Can u tell me the quality of the plating and warranty ?? (Is it triple chrome plated, 1 year on plating ?)

3. Are these rims that may contain blemishes. I have found alot of sites tonight stating thier rims are not "blem'd"

4. Do the OE center caps fit these rim ?? And do yo have the "Ford Racing Logo center cap available?

5. And one of the toughest questions I have is this. If I want to match this replca wheel on my car with an OE FR500, is there a noticable difference.. I ask this because I am thinking of Buying the Deep dish rims for the rear and have the OE rims in the front.

thanks for your time.. I'll be back to see a reply soon..

-Joe

Ill let you know everything that I know.

1) These wheels are from wheelreplicas.com

2) To my knowledge it is triple chrome plating with a 1-year Warranty on Chrome and 10 years on Structural defects.

3) In receiving them we are assuming that these Rims do NOT have any blemishes. If there is a blemish, it is on the place where the tire sits or in an un-noticable part. There will NOT be a blemish ANYWHERE on the front of the wheels.

4) OE Caps will fit. We are working on getting actual center caps for these Rims, but currently we dont have them (yet!). If you want to wait for the center caps, wait about a week. Thats when we should be getting them in. I dont know if we will have the Ford Racing center caps. If you are looking for those I would check 50resto.com

5) If your wheels are Chromed then there shouldnt be a problem at all with the look between the replica rims and the original FRs, with the exception of the Ford Racing Branding. These wheels are made to be exactly like the factory wheels, with NO differences between the two (with the exception of the branding).

Hopefully that answers your questions. If you have any other questions post em up, ill answer them when I see them.

Can you guys tell me the suggested tire size for these deep dish rims ??

I talked to a tire dealer today and told me to contact the manufacturer for tire size.

I'm looking at 295/35/18's.. And maybe even a 315 if the price is right..

I also have seen on the web that due to the Cobra being an IRS rear, I may have rubbing on the top IRS bolt with a bigger tire ? Have you heard of this as well ?

PS: I ordered these FR500 deep dish chromes friday night from your site after talking to the customer service rep who said that delivery is in 2 weeks .. Now it feels like x-mas is coming.

Hi,
I am also interested in getting a set of the Black ones, deep dish for the rear, what is the backspacing on the deep dish?, these rims will be on a different vehicle (but it uses a lot of parts from a 2003 Cobra, I can easily fit 315s but I'd like to see first how they would fit/look, here's my project:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=182965

(the one without the body. I named it "SuperCobra" )
there's a link to a video there too, if you feel like checking it out.

ahh ! I forgot to telll you that the Car will be ALL black !

Thanks !

I know that the 10.5's listed on this site, will not fit the Cobra kit cars with IRS suspension. My brother is building one right now and we tried out the one rim I've received, and the back spacing does not work. I'm not sure what the spacing is though. There does not seem to be alot of rims that will fit the kit Cobra's with IRS suspention, at least that is what my brother is saying. Just my 2 cents.

EEERRRTTTT...Hit those brakes....

The 17x10.5 Wont fit the Cobra...these FR500's are 18x10, which WILL fit the Cobra with the IRS suspension.

Weight on those things is around 25 ish I believe. You can shove a 315/30/18 on these things. And yes, as far as I know, delivery should be within 2 weeks, although I would allow an extra week (just in case!!) because of what ive been hearing (according to Wheel Replicas some of those containers have been held up at customs for god knows how long).

Guys,
I am pretty sure the 10.5" rims will fit this project of mine given they have the right backspacing of course, Factory Five updated their frame (MKIII's) to be able to fit 315s on a 10.5" rim:

here's an image of a MKIII Cobra Roadster Replica using Bullitts.

so, anyways, what is the backspacing on the Black FR500s that you sell?

Thanks

Standard Backspacing. 5.96" I believe.

Cobra4me - Do you have the IRS suspension as asked about? Just curious, because if you do, I'll have to have my brother get ahold of you to find out where you got your rims.

Regarding the comparison between Ford Racing FR500 rims and MT's FR500 Rims. I would like to note that the Ford Racing FR500 Chrome rims are textured (bumpy) on the inside of the spokes while the Mustang Tuning ones are smooth. Also, as noted above, the Ford Racing ones have the words "Ford Racing" on the outer lip. I dont think/know if this applies to other colors. I'm only speaking about the chrome.

Yes, I am using the IRS suspension, but I took it a step further and used the 03 Cobra IRS (parts) instead of the TBird that FFR suggests, mainly because I already had it, but it is basically the same thing with only minor differences.

Here's how my Car looks now that I have lowered it to the gorund, height in the Back and front is adjustable, I am planning on make it a little higher in the back and lower in the front, as you can see I have plenty of space for Deep Dish rims:

That'll look sweet. I love black cars, sometimes I wish I could have bought a black stang. Oh well, still love my mineral grey gt.
