Default mach 1 hood help

Hey guys, I want to get a mach one hood for my 03 GT - I dont know what to do - I saw your kit - but it way too expensive in my opinion, for not being a replacement hood, unless you can make a better. However do you have or can you get an oem mach 1 hood and system for a GT? - will that even work? - thanks

It's not just a hood. The Mach 1 has a CAI shaker system that sticks up through a hole in the hood. You can get similar kits from CDC and Roush, but they're not cheap.

yep, you'd need to get the whole shaker system to go along with the hood.....or else you'd just have a very large hole in your hood......it's a very expensive mod. There are some pretty cool after market hoods out there that wouldn't require the whole shaker set up

Just to clarify, what I think purple is asking is will a hood off a Mach 1 fit a GT? I think purple is concerned that the system being like $800 is a little steep since it only comes with the facia piece and shaker system and not the entire hood with the shaker system. If I were to go the shaker route, I would rather have the Mach 1 hood as opposed to the hood facia these kits have.

hm... in that case, it's a good question. If you went with the roush kit and roush hood, you'd know it would fit. The CDC shaker might not be the same dimensions as the Mach 1 one.

I do not believe the stock Mach 1 intake(shaker) could be applied to a GT. At least not without modification. The intake system is different on a 4v.

the mach 1 hood would fit onto the gt...but make sure u get the OEM system....karkraft.com has the OEM shaker system but they made a special bracket to fit onto the 2v engines..

http://karkraft.com/Shakers%20and%20Scoops.htm

the cdc shaker system uses the stock gt hood...u have to cut a hole into the hood.....the dimentions are different so you cannot use the mach 1 hood for the cdc system

pepsiaddict: you are correct that the Mach 1 shaker would not work on a 2v...but w/ karkraft's kit..it will work...
