Default 5.0 basically stock

As of now I have 95 5.0 with k&n cold air, h pipes (not catted), and shorty headers. Im guessing about 250 or 260 to the fly, how far off am I? Also where should i start on upgrading it. As of now im short on cash, im looking for cheap ways to get more speed, i may get nitrous l8er but right now im ganna keep it naturally asperated. I was thinking of things like 4:10 gear, undrive pulleys, possible ram air first. Then intake, throttle body, heads. Last would be the nitrous and maybe supercharger (this will be when i have money).Would this be the right order to do things? What else could i do?

Start big and work your way down.

Get nitrous or a supercharger.

If used incorrectly, it will. If its set up accordingly and with the proper safety measures, you can have a great experience with it.

IMO don't waste time and money on ram air or CAI or all the other stuff. Go with gears first, then Nitro or Boost (SC or turbo). That will make the car fun. Once that's done, then all the $100-$300 parts will really make a difference as you add them (like intake, throttle body, cams, ignition, heads (I know, heads are not $100-$300 unless you're getting a set of GT-40 irons). All those parts on their own, won't do too much and will put you in the poor house but combined with a boost maker or NOS and you'll be grinning ear to ear. Also, don't forget about chassis and brakes. The unibody will only take so much and if you make it fast, you'll have to slow down.
I thought the stock 5.0 was only 210-215 HP or so. That would put your K&N, headers and H pipe at around 225 or so

Look at my sig. Now I have had some guys call BS on this and although it does appear kinda high for just the little things that are done it is what it is and the dyno doesn't lie. I recently put Long Tubes on it, but havent got to a dyno yet. The car has been mechanically maintained to the best of the previous owner and that must be part of the reason for it running so good.

pullies and short belt would get an additional 10 or so. Plus, the factory rating was with stock timing. You could squeak another couple out with 93+ octane and some aggressive timing. I don't think you're too far off from what I was guessing.

I had a car with the same stuff plus 150 shot, 3.73 gears and hoosier quicktime dots. add the juce gear and tires and you would have to be the worst driver not to dip well into the 12s. I dont know about hp. or tq. but fox body cars cant do anything without a really stickey tire.

Well its off of the fox body frame, but looks like a 96-...98 i think. I think thats how it worked, something weird like that. And shorty header add around 10, k&n 12-15, exhaust 10. Thats the numbers that an 05 got, i think if anything mine would be better because of the bigger engine, but im not sure.

Also is the venom 1000 the best way to go, I want about 100 or 150 shot, I like my engine in one peice so remember that? Is the venom 400 worth getting as well (i know its not nitrous)? I heard the venom 400 and venom 1000 coincide and work well together, is this true?

One more question while im at it... How do you know what gear u have in, the guy i bout it from didnt know a thing about it (did get a mechanic to check it out, cleared as fine by him), the power curve seems to end about a little over 5g rpm, gear 1 to 35mph, 2 to 55mph, 3 to 70mph, 4 to 90mph, the 5 gear i havnt topped, but it does seem to be longer than the other 4. What gear do u think i have?

To get the gear ratio, you have to jack up the bck of the car and count how many times the pinion rotates per one revolution of the wheel.

i doubt ur making that much hp with ur mods. what u feel is torque and ull have alot more of that then hp. id do a tune up, up the timing some, and keep on with the small bolt ons pullies, exhaust, gears, etc. then when u have run out of those decide on a h/c/i combo.

Default H pipe?

You said you had an off road H pipe on your 95. My 94 is in need of an X or H and I need some ideas. Email me at Mazdarx7aspec@juno.com and let me know how it sounds and if the noise in the cab is very loud. Thanks alot.
