Recal MAF with SCT tuner???
Ok, got a question... I just installed a new engine in my '87 GT. Nothing crazy, just a fresh 5.0 with a B-303 cam, Cobra intake, 24lb injectors, etc...
Needless to say, these things have a tendency to add up quick. So just to get her up and running, I put her together with her old mass air meter. It's a 70mm unit, but it's calibrated for 19lb injectors. Of course, it's causing her to run a bit rich.
I'm planning to buy the SCT eliminator 4-bank chip from Amer Muscle, so I can make the most of the goodies under the hood. My question is, can this chip re-tune the ECU to run correctly with the MAF I have now, and the 24lb injectors, or do I need to buy another meter first?
I only ask because, at 70mm, airflow isn't a problem with my current meter. And if the SCT chip can allow me to NOT have to drop $250 on another meter... that would be great.
If not, I'll go ahead and order another meter. But that'll mean putting off getting my chip for a bit longer.
Thanks in advance!
