Default vibration ?

ok i just got an 85 gt and it needs some work. wile driving on the highway it has a vibration coming from the rear of the car. the guy i got it from ses it is the tires but it makes the car shake farly good. i think it might be the u joints or a bent or out of balince shaft. could it be anything else?

cheapest thing to try first is to get your tires balanced. if that doesn't help, look into driveline or suspension.

Does it still have the gigantic "anti-vibration" weight bolted to the rear end?

could be driveshaft balance/index. could be tire balance. could be the gears themselves. sloppy ujoint wont help either.
