vibration ?

ok i just got an 85 gt and it needs some work. wile driving on the highway it has a vibration coming from the rear of the car. the guy i got it from ses it is the tires but it makes the car shake farly good. i think it might be the u joints or a bent or out of balince shaft. could it be anything else?

any one have any ideas?

it could probably be the rear end.

it dose it in all gears but only at low rpms in each gear and at high speed in nutral

take it to a shop and get it fixed.

cheapest thing to try first is to get your tires balanced. if that doesn't help, look into driveline or suspension.

Does it still have the gigantic "anti-vibration" weight bolted to the rear end?

i havent been able to get under it. i dont have a jack and there is to mutch snow on the ground. i will try to get my friends ramps and look. i would like to replace the u joints anyways just for a percotion.

could be driveshaft balance/index. could be tire balance. could be the gears themselves. sloppy ujoint wont help either.

well i finaly got under my car to inspected the u joints and found that the bolts for the drive line were loos and one was missing. i titend the three that were still there and i will replace the missing one.
