My advice...

dont get SLP...

Get something chambered... everyone has flowmaster because IT SOUNDS GOOD and doesnt cost a fortune... but yeh... mac, magnaflow, flowmaster, borla, bassani, all good... just get a chambered...

straight through muffs like slp are too raspy... I think the only reason everyone likes em us cause their so dog dern loud...

an old carb'd 302 like you've got yourself... will sound best w/ a chambered...

I love all the people that dog on SLP that have never heard them, much less owned them.

I put a set of Loudmouth 1's on my wife's Cobra a year ago. It's a rare day that she drives it and doesn't get a compliment on how nice her car sounds. I liked it so much that I got a set for my 93 this winter from MT. With my shorty headers and Bassani catted X it sounds just plain badass. My car sounds like a built, cammed 60's small block now. I've had nothing but compliments on it. Is it loud? Very. Does it sound good? Hell yeah. If you like a pure muscle car sound, I highly recommend SLP. On another note, the quality of SLP products is simply excellent. Both kits fit perfectly and installed more easily than any other mod I have done to either car.

:stupid: Yes I said it!!

I have heard the SLP's on an older Mustang and was'nt impressed.Loud yes but that was it.There are about 3 Camaro's/TA's around here with SLP and they sound horrible in my opinion.

Get Mac Pro Dump's!!That would sound mean as hell and have tone.

i heard slp loudmouth on a ws6 t/a and i thought it sounded amazing prolly one of the best aftermarket exhaust for those cars---but on a mustang i cant honestly say ive heard it in person--but slp usually has good products and i would figure they arent to bad i would buy the slp loud mouths for my car but it came with flowmasters already on it so its not worth doing the swap

If you were implying that I never heard SLPs then you are very sadly mistaken...

I have even driven a car with slp muffs...

IMO... they are a waste of money... I don't understang the "straight throw" design... just put straight pipes on...

And on an older pushrod car... chambered sound the best... Chambered= PURE MUSCLE CAR SOUND... not the raspy SLP...

Though I have heard cammed modulars with slp that sound awesome...

I had BBk shorties, Bassani X pipe and flowmasters on mine, people told me it sounded badass all the time, or they said that is sounded like i had a pissed off pony.

Funny SLP was only camaro's and Firebirds parts makers till they stopped making them, then they jumped into the mustang world. and I HAVE NEVER heard of a nice sounding camaro or firebird, they might sound good at first but then they give it some more gas and it's a raspy crappy sound, and i'm like, yep, should have bought a FORD, for the muscle sound. I've heard of SLP exhaust and yea it's just loud, ok, but loud. but good dyno gains.

I had SLP LM 1 on my car and then I got a Bassani O/R X pipe and it was just too raspy..so I went with the power flow..at first it was so quiet..but after about 2000 miles when you blow out alot of the glass pack it starts to liven up!! my car sounds bad ***..and loud.
