Did you see it slow poke its way from 50-90 then finally take off. That right there is a narrow ass power band brought on by an oversize turbo. If you keep it up near or past the redline it's got nuts.. great. When it can get out of its own way at any speed, then I'll be impressed.

its cool, its a good number. just not very usefull. im sure it runs pretty good from a roll, but getting it to hook and not spin or wheel hop has got to be a challenge. plus the turbo lag.

but hey, that dyno graph looks good on the fridge.

Dang, why all the hate just because he chose to make something other than a mustang fast? Take any small ci engine, add a large turbo and its definatly gonna have some lag if you hit it at 40mph in 4th gear at 2500rpms. Take that same car, downshift to 2nd gear at 40mph and chances are you WILL see tail lights, or hit it in 1st at 2K rpms and the same will likely happen. Perhaps he thinks its dumb to sink so much into a foxbody mustang when the 87-93's are quickly approching 20 years old. To each his own, if it werent for diff oppinions the car world would be about as much fun as watching oprah.

maybe cause its wrong wheel drive...or maybe most ppl here have a thing for Mustangs...yeah, maybe thats it.

see below. You see... any idiot can put too big a compressor on too small a motor and achieve huge HP numbers but the only place those numbers look good is on the fridge.

Dudes neon makes a useless powerband that's only interesting because it explores the extreme edges of combo potential. If it were set up with only half the power but it pulled through the whole run...I'd give it props and so would these jokers.

guarentee that neon with its short powerband would rip the bumper off 99% of the cars on this site...

Im curious who thinks an average v8 turbo/supercharged that is nailed at 2500 in 4th gear is gonna rip the rollers outa the ground instantly? Maybe he wants to do some roll racing where average power isnt the end all/be all. If everyone wanted pretty dyno graphs we would all just spray it. I am guessing for what he is gonna do with it, it doesnt matter how laggy it is under 4 grand. He would hand out some boost slaps on the highway for you all to hang on your refrigerators

Do i give him props for hitting 700+hp? of course i do. I really diddnt even think it was possible to have a neon hit that kind of hp without toasting the engine. Kudo's, pretty cool man!

However that powerband is pretty disappointing in the grand scheme of things. If i were to spend all that money i would want something a bit faster in the 0-100 range. I would take R3d's stang over that neon anyday. Hell, he doesent even have a torque curve, more of a slight torque hump.....

THAT is TRULY impressive.

Besides... does anyone else think there is seriously something wrong about a 700hp that has to race from a roll?...

at least i bet he doesent have to worry about spinning on the launch

EDIT: How about getting a speedo window switch and throwing a shot of nitrous in it from 0-90mph?
