Default help needed installing cai on 04

i have a 04 mustang, my ebay cai finally arrived yesterday, its the type wit the long metal tube and the other hole has the rubber groummet and when i got the stock intake off and started installing the upper pipe i noticed that the breather tube doesnt connect to the long metal tube and nothing goes onto the rubber groummet on the other side of the tube, i need to know how to connect the breather tube and what to use to cover up that rubber groummet hole without risking my engine sucking whatever i use in, any help will be apprecaited thanks

That doesn't look right to me either, that seems to be too much of a stretch...but then again, for $30 what kind of fit do you expect...?

did you perchance run into the problem (i would imagine you did cause yours is to the passenger side more now that its streteched) of the CAI banging on the side of the car? for a while mine would bang up against the side while on startup, we resolved the problem many times with different shaped grommits and different width rubbers, each of them worked for a while but then would fall out and we would have to redo it, we recently came upon the ultimate conclusion! We utilized a portion of the old air intake to create the best... thing... ever. We used multiple black zip-ties to keep it in place for years to come, and we made holes for the tubes going in =D
May not be the prettiest, but it gets the job done (and the file size is huge, too bad 0_^ )
<('.'<)
-Old Dirty engine, needs a good cleaning but atleast the upper intake is shiney =D

i just bought a CAI off of ebay as well (hopefully it's not a piece of crap). are these things pretty easy to install? i've never really installed anything before so i'm hoping it doesn't give me a lot of problems.

easy, sure, my father and i did it in an hour or so because the grommet things for the 2 tubes that connect to it werent correct, they were swapped around... so we did a job on that, lol, and it just required some pacience and a bit of muscling to get it to fit snugly... And obviosly we had the baging problem which we fixed... yay!
