Ok im not entireley positive.. But i have a GREAT Mechanical understanding.. So theoretically IF your cars horribly out of time,, then its possible for the piston to meet a valve when it isnt supposed to. BUT pistons have a dome on them,, Its either to A have 1mm clearance for the valve OR hold gas for combustion. BUT i think its very possible it couldve cranked into the valve. you would know it tooo if they were hitting, id say even when cranking for startup. I actually dont think it would even run either.. becuz it'd be sparking at the wrong time. getting gas at the wrong time.. everything would be horrible... It'd toast the engine again.. but if it happens it happens, they messed up SO they have to rebuild it again,, if they don't id sue till i owned the shop.

well if your hitting a valve it can't crank.. for example. my friends 300ex atv, he was going down the road and it dropped a valve. instead of locking the engine it chattered the thing into the piston a thousand times, so when he stopped it locked up.. So if a valve was hitting i dont think it'd be able to crank, unless it was just barely meeting,, which i figure if its gonna happen its gonna be worse case scenario where the valve hasnt came down to its full length and the pistons still rising,, that would definetly be a lock up becuz idt a starters powerful enough to crank thru that,, AND i'd guess ud hear a click or something,, id just unhook the tranny or something, but if all else fails theres a junkyard beside my house with tons of 3.8 engines pulled that u can get for 400 bucks. thats why i dont care to blow mine to smitherines. ALSO they are split port 99-04 style so u should see a 50HP increase over ur model stock.

ok at first i thought that they didnt have the timing correct (whcih was the base) thats why i ask this question about it. But just last night i asked them again and they said "yes the base timing is correct, all they had to time was the adjusable one, I was like oh ok.
I thought it was the base timing cuz at first they only told me that they needed to adjust the timing but forgot that there was 2 timin's to be adjusted

we already tried to turn the crank pulley with a wrench and it wont budge at all but yet again whenever we crank it the pullies turn very slow
and the piston/valve is not a issue anymore cuz i though they ment that they needed to correct the base timing but instead they just needed to correct the adjustable timing (base timing was correct whenever they started it)
