I never looked into them when I had my v6, but there are a lot of people that will really recommend them. I think you would need 1.73. I have been told they are good for up to 20hp. The guy with the 700hp v6, I forget his username, he really thinks they are worth it. Do a search over at 3.8mustang.com/forum and see what you come up with.

I think that they are worth it. Stangcharger recommended them in my thread as to what should the next upgrade be.
I have a question though and I am sure that MustangV6_04 is most likely been thinking this also.
(Stangcharger - I just went through a ton of other sites trying to gather more info. I came upon like 3-4 different sites I have never seen before and I looked through there sections for engine upgrades. What I found on a few of them surprised me! There were statements to the effect of upgrading the RR to lets say 1.8 will make the engine seem as though it has a cam and I know when I had my old 5.0 I changed mine and didn't notice anything. I have been working on engines along time and have never heard of this before. Can you clear this up?
Also I seen a post concerning the 4.2L cam. Does this help? I know that the cam profiles for the 3.8 and 4.2 are not that much different but it was mentioned that it will make the car slightly meaner sounding - the I have a cam sound - but it should affect drivability that much and is also good for freeing up a few hp. My thought is it wouldn't be that much but unless you are going all out with the motor it could be a good thing. I really don't want to go totally nuts with mine but it could be a great addition. It also said that swapping these cams don't require anything - not even a tune? I found that kind of odd - because if the cam profile is different wouldn't it require the need for different lenght pushrods. Can you clear this up also?

the cam will not affect drivability that much at all. and a cam is one of the weak points in a 3.8L mustang. it is kind of a wall once people get to around 200rwhp and cant get more with bolt-ons. You WILLLL need a tune after installing a cam. especially if you want the HP it will gain.

ive had mine in for well over 4 years without one problem with them.
a faulty computer is what fried my last motor. found that out when my new motor went in and the tuner was having problems.

and i love at the end of it, it says.... "The next time you see a V-6 Mustang, don't point and laugh. Rather, look at the per-formance potential that lies underneath. And with its favorable weight savings, cost savings (hey, six spark plugs are cheaper than eight, right?), and a plentiful supply of parts (remember, Ford sold more of these than the V-8 cars), it's pretty much a no-brainer. All you need is the desire to be different and the pride to make it happen.

he is making my sheet metal race intake for me and i talked with him and was very happy with the time he spent talking to me.

don't think so, and not sure. my mechanic installs all my stuff. but from what he said it was easy. you can see them through the oil cap under the valve cover.
