So...it's new...ish
I have a 2007 Pony Edition V6 and I'm just getting started with add-ons and I want to know what are the best starting mods for it? I'm not looking to have a "Nightrider" or "Death Race" kind of Mustang....at least not anytime soon. But I want to have a V6 that can hold it's own. I haven't done anything to it yet except for the exhaust..thanks to my awesome dad (birthday gift for me this year). So it's new...and I don't even know where to start...any suggestions?

Unfortunately, with your car, just about everything you do to it will require a tune.
I would go with
Gears and a Tlok (i don't remember if the S197s carry a tlok in them now or not..)
SCT Xcal 3
Underdrive Pullies
And if you really want a cold air intake..
The intake/gears/tlok require a tune, the SCT XCal 3 is a tuner.. if you do go with this sort of combo, i'd recommened going with all three and having the xcal pre-tuned for it.

and no they are still 1 tire fire. but the suspension in them is really good compared to earlier years. feels a lot sturdier than my stock suspension was.
intake w/ intigrated MAF , gears w/ T-lock, tuner w/ tunes on it. these with your exhaust will be quite a fast car.
do gears/T-lock first. most bang for the buck.
Auto or manual?

its a manual...yesterday i was looking for a posi trac differential for my car (...thats what a t lock is right??.....)but couldnt find any....do i need to search that or " T Lock" ? would that make a difference do you think?

lol, lonely?
(That makes two jabs at you today.)
Don't scare her off, haha.
Anyway, you need to look for a 7.5" T-lok or posi-trac, they are basicly the same thing.

you're from tyler! I'm from longview! sweet, another east-texas driver. yeah, I'd throw gears and a tlok in it first. www.stangmods.com has some good gear packages with all you'll need.

If you have the money, save up a bit more and get a gear-based locker like the Detroit Truetrac. It's a lot more durable than the Ford t-lok since it doesn't use clutch packs that wear out. If you get one (truetrac), use synthetic gear oil and don't worry about the friction modifier (however the t-lok does require friction modifier).

I like DURABLE..but I'm concerned with Warranty issues...chances are anything I do to my car after market is going to void my warranty? Do you know if staying with "ford" products would make a difference?

Yep, T-lock is ford's name for posi-trac. They are one of the best things we can do to our cars, by eliminating the 1 wheel peel and letting both rear wheels put power to the ground. If you go that route you may as well get some 3.73 gears to have put in since the labor cost will be same.

awesome..so..girl question...whats the difference between 3.73 and 4.10? i found a kit that gives you the option of your choice...and i guess somebody that bought the kit went with the 4.10s and they commented that if you put those in a V6 then you will keep up with the GTs...is that right or are they crazy?
OH, and...my car is really bad about "bump-steer" not sure if all mustangs are but I know mine is TURRRIBLE...should I consider changing my suspension before I go with more acceleration...? or will it make THAT big of a dfference? (I've never done this before can ya tell? hehe)
...i'll have pics up soon...maybe...if i can figger it out.....gr

I do my own work. Or I'd be able to help you. :]

The better thing to say is that you'd go help her install stuff..haha.
What problems are you having exactly with the suspension? IMO there aren't a whole lot of things that we can do to a V6 stang to make it fast, so personally I prefer suspension mods..the only "go fast" mods I would consider are a supercharger or turbo, and the other necessary items to have those deliver power to the ground efficiently. Gears won't make your car a lot faster, but it will give you a noticeable increase in acceleration, so you might actually be able to beat that Honda Odyssey mini-van as the lady in it tries to keep you from passing her.
I'm not kidding about that mini-van thing.
Oh and what issues are you having with the pics?

As far as gears and a LSD (truetrac or tlok) with the proper tune for speedo & odometer recalibration, the easy answer is just don't tell them since it won't be obvious... unless what breaks is a rear axle... If I wanted to do that to a car in warranty, I'd go ahead and do it. What usually breaks rear end components is either a worn part going bad (older car) or breakage due to high-horsepower applications (any car). A v6 mustang with just bolt-ons doesn't really make enough power to break rear end components due to excessive power.
That, and the locker will have a warranty if bought new and the shop should have some kind of warranty for their work. I say go for it
