I have an '04 40th anniversary v6 with less than 88,000 on the odometer and i keep it in top shape. my ? is i want to clean the throttle body and i want to know how to go about doing that and when i should do it and how often. I also treat the fuel system periodically with fuel injection cleaner. and here's one more ?, has anyone had a problem with the plastic filler neck cracking where the gas cap is located? thanks!

 

i just use carb cleaner that works pretty well and i only do it if it looks dirty.

 

They sell a cleaner called Throttle body and intake manifold cleaner, but it look smells and acts just like carb cleaner to me. Just take the air intake hose off and then open the TB up by hand and spray it all around inside to let the cleaner work and take off all the sludge etc.. you have gathered up.
