Default Throttle Body Sacer

Has anybody tried one of those throttle body spacers you see in cataolgs? I think Helix makes one, and few others too. Waste of money or worth a try.

waste of money!!! An intake spacer(this means the spacer goes between your upper and lower intake manifolds) will show about 8-10rwhp. Until you are a boosted or heavily modded NA application there is not even a need for a throttle body on the 3.8.

just saw you have a new 07 mustang, so not sure if they make intake spacers for your motor yet, but the rest still stands true for the throttle body spacer

I think you guys are on different pages. One of you seems to be talking about a phenolic intake space (between upper and lower air intakes (directly on top of the engine). They are there to lower the heat ransfer from the lower intake to the upper intake, resulting in lower temp air entering....blah, blah, blah....can't comment on them as I know little on the subject.

The other seems to be asking about a spacer that goes on the air intake itself (above the engine) ... the thottle body (you know..what the gas pedal controls)
About the THROTTLE BODY spacer.... I think it is a waste of money. It tries to do what the Tornado Fuel Saver does. Get a TFS; it is worth it. Better gas mileage, better throttle response and a liitle boost... (5hp).
Pays for itself insde one month with gas pracies @$4/gal!!
