So I got the Predator today..

Tried to plug it in and uhhh I get

"this tune is not for this vehicle" or something like that

and then "this tune was not installed"

Now, the previous owner had a GT, I've got a 3.8 v6, could that have anything to do with it?

 

no they work on both gt and v6 did you buy the right year

 

hell if i know, i bought it from badfish, didn't know they came with years ;x

its the round white sticker on the back of the predator

 

all the round white sticker says is "MUSTANG"

 

ah well there should be 2 stickers on the back of the predator.
1. near the top the vin # so to say
2. the round white sticker that should have a code on it. the one for your year should be U7146

what you can do is go to Diablo web site register your product ( thats if the other owner didnt already do so). You dont have to though. But they have a fourm there an they can help you. I have gone there many times when i have problems.

jon prolly forgot to erase his vehicle from the predator.

so the predator you have is still married to his old car.

i could be wrong but i sold my predator and i made sure i erased my car from the predator. the dude said it worked fine once he got it.

 

i asked him if he removed it and he said yes... so idk

 

Now that were on topic, I wanted to know which one is better? the predator or the SCT. I'm gonna put some 4.10 gears on my car and know i have to put a tuner on it. I been thinking about the predator but everyone talks about the other one so i'm Only mods i have is CAI from AM, after the gears and tuner i decide on i'm gonna put dual exhaust and a underdrive pulley, which one do ya'll recommend? whch one gives the most power or performance or overall is better, any help is a appreciated, Thanks my car is a 2000 auto

So I'm talking to the Diablo guys right now, first one thought the revision was f'd up, but its not, the dude asked me if I can get the CAL id ..I can, I think I'm going to try to see if they can mail me something that'll wipe it clean ..I talked to the authorised dealer here in town for diablo, he thinks that Badfishes old GTs "ID" is permanently set in there, something about once you load the tune it stays in there or somethin.. *shrug*

 

Welp finished talking with Diablosports... apparently, " STOCK HP TUNE" or w/e the hell it is, doesn't mean you returned your car back to the factory tune, so my tuner, is still married to badfishes vehicle. ;x

 

yeah you would have to load the regular stock tune.

 

Welp diablosport is being a douchebag, and won't even take it to have it reprogrammed back to normal, not even for another $100, apparently they beleive their tune is worth $400 or something.. Shitty thing is though, is so many people sell their diablos and think that "stock hp tune" means well, the origional tune is back on, when its not. So I basically lost a hundred bucks, I'm going to send mine to VMP or something here in the next month or so and buy a SCT..

 

well they are also trying to stop theft of their tune. For all they know your a scam guy and put the predator on one car and are scaming them so you can put it on another. they dont know the good kids from the bad its just safty for them. You just got the short had of the stick this time around. At least it wasnt something that cost over a grand.

 

Well its not like their specific diablo tune is installed on another car, it isn't. Its just the "stock hp tune" and i went through that tune..and there is nothing modified on it. I did get the short hand of the stick, its no ones fault, I'm basically only losing $100 bucks...

But while I'm in the midst of shopping for a tuner..whats the difference between SCT and Diablo?
