Ok I search some threads and found some stuff but im not sure. I just got my rims and tires from AM and I put them on the car but on the box it said they were at 44psi for mounting but that I had to adjust them. I read on here some people run then at 30 35 and saw one at 40. I want to get the most out of these tires, any suggestions? Also i got them Nitrogen filled if that make a difference.

 

My mechanics shop and I use 36 PSI.

I wasn't linking it for PSI, just to tell you about Nitrogen because you asked.

Edit: I was hoping to find something in my Haynes Repair Manual, but couldn't find anything. If I remember correctly it tells you on the vechile some where for PSI rating.
The book I have says
"To extend the life of the tires, check the air pressure at least once a week with an accurate gauge (don't forget the spare!)"

What size rims and tires. This makes a difference as if the tire is slightly oversized like I run then you have to run them at a lower PSI to get them to wear even.

Assuming they are regular sizes, 30-34psi is what it takes. You will have to play with it to see what your car likes best. 33psi up front for me works best, and 22psi out back. But I have a different setup then you most likely.

 

What do you have?
I run 36 all tires.
Front 255-40-17
Rear 275-40-17

 

front 17x9 275 Back 17x10.5 315

 

I would start at 32psi front/back and drive it through some dirt to see the foot print and adjust from there. No dirt on the outsides means tire PSI is to high. If the middle has less dirt then outside then pressure is to low. Adjust till its perfect.

 

36 rear/32 front or 34 rear / 32 front. I never go below 30psi for regular street use.

 

Basically go with whats been said, i wouldnt go above 36 psi, or below 30. Spike im surprised you run 22 psi on your backs. Seems would be too low, but im sure you checked. I keep all my tires the same honestly, im not makin allot of torque and my tires are so worn and bald i dont care if they are off by a few psi, but i go for 33ish usually.

Also I have oversized tires on 17x8 wheels out back. So 22psi makes them wear nice since they are oversized. The 315's on 17x10.5 have 30psi flat in them and they wear nice. I have two different sets of rims for the back of the car now.
