Default Tire pressure street tires?

What should my tire pressure be for drag racing on street tires? 245 width tires on 17by9 wheels.

Default Not too low

Dropping the pressure as though the street tires were slicks really doen't help anything, though I've seen some that swore it did.

Slicks are meant to "wrinkle" and store some of the energy you expend when you drop the hammer. To do this, they operate at pretty low pressure levels. The stiff sidewalls on street tires can't do this. If you see your street tires with wrinkles in the sidewalls, you're about to witness a detonation.

I wouldn't run at much less than 20-25#. Its important for your tires to have enough pressure to keep their grip on the inner rim of your wheel (whole other story about tire screws/bolts and drag racing).

Too much air pressure is as dangerous as too little, of course.
